TOC field question
First of all, I want to express my extreme gratitude to all those who have been so helpful here. Thank you.
I want to insert a TOC Field with entries based on TC fields (this I know how to do) but between each entry, there is a separator "*" and nothing else, and with no page number and no CRLF after the entries, so the whole thing will be one continuous paragraph: entry1*entry2*entry3* etc. I tried playing with the switches with no success TIA Susan |

Hmm, that is not standard TOC behaviour so we need to get creative. This is a bit labour intensive so I would leave this until the edits have ceased.
I would firstly add a switch to the TOC to hide the page numbers. If you add \n to the TOC field, it won't show the page numbers or the tab that spaces them out. Then, after you update the TOC to show all the entries on their own paragraph, you can select the resulting TOC and do a find/replace to replace the paragraph marks with your * separator. Find ^p Replace with * I would then lock the field so it doesn't update back to the paragraph version accidently.
