Question cliff notes

Does word 2007 have a cliff notes option?

I have a write up I want to edit, that a friend sent me, but i don't want to delete anything I just want to make comments &/or suggestions. I figured a split vertical page would do the trick but can' figure it out. And of course, making two columns don't work as the text in the other columns shift as text is added to the first column.

thanks for any help that can be provided.

You can use Word's Track Changes features, one of which is Comments. On the Review tab, check the option you'd like in Balloons. You may wish to check Show only comments and formatting in balloons, and then uncheck Formatting under Show Markup. Place your cursor where you wish to make a comment, or highlight the text about which you wish to comment. On the Review tab, click New comment (or type Alt+R,C) to create a comment balloon, then type; your cursor will already be in the balloon.
