How to preserve hyperlinks when converting to PDF
Hi, I can't figure out how to convert a document to pdf without losing hyperlinks leading to bookmarks inside the same document.
I have a word document which contains two tables on two separate pages. I wanted to create two internal hyperlinks which should allow the user to jump to one of the tables when the other one has been clicked. I could just turn the text in each of the cells into a hyperlink, but the caveat is that i want the hyperlink to activate when user clicks wherever inside the confines on the table, not just directly on text. Since I can't add a hyperlink directly to the table itself, the best workaround I could figure out is creating a rectangular shape over the table and assigning a link to it, This solution works well enough for me inside word, but I can't export the document as pdf without losing my hyperlinks I'm using the the File/Export option instead of File/Save as option. I'm using windows 11 with office 365 I've attached images with my export settings (my changes from defaults are marked in red) and a word document with minimal example. Try clicking one of the tables to activate hyperlinks. Can you help me convert my file to pdf without stripping it of hyperlinks or advise an alternative workflow which would end up providing me with similar results? |
