Annoying office assistant in Word 2021
Hi. I am editing a word document when I get a very small MS office assistant with a drop down box with options to copy and paste and auto correct. I can not get rid of it and I can not work around it as it covers up my text. Can I get rid off this office assistant? |

You can customize what is displayed using File | Options |

I think what you mean will be affected by:
File / Options / Advanced / second block down is "Cut, Copy and Paste" Uncheck the "Show Paste Options button when content is pasted" check box. |

Also, the Esc key will close the Paste Options pop-up.
You have not seen an annoying office assistant if you haven't experienced Clippy! You can do a web search for "Office Assistant" and "Clippy" to get an idea of true annoyances! See also: Is Clippy back? and Paperclip by FieCube. |

Note that turning off the Paste Options button may have an undesired side-effect: the selected paste formats at File > Options > Advanced may be ignored in certain versions of Word.
