Hello,
How do I insert a special character into text? (e.g. the symbol for a half (instead of writing 0.5) Thanks Dave |

Also in Word, you can go under File/Options/Proofing/AutoCorrect options, and there's a box to select auto-formatting 1/2 to the smaller ½ character.

But not on the Mac. On the Mac this would be somewhere under preferences.
