Table of Contents - Chapter & Heading on Same Line
Hi
Ive opened a Word document I created some time ago and I cant remember how I managed to (almost) achieve what I wanted in regard to the Chapter number and Chapter Name. I have a heading type called Chapter and a Heading 2. I have somehow managed to get the Heading 2 next to the Chapter name and number in the table of contents. However, it only seems to be working correctly for one of the chapters in the TOC. I have attached the document. Can anyone please help me to get this working correctly ? |

Hi, I was able to get it to put both sections on one line, simply by replacing your paragraph break with a line break (SHIFT+ENTER); however, that also makes the first line and the subsequent line the same font size.

Your document uses TC fields to create the TOC. The second one is missing the chapter name.

You need to edit the second TC field to include the information you want in the TOC

You can, in such a document, use a StyleRef Field as a part of the TC field to make a TC field that can be copied and pasted. I save such a field as an AutoText entry.
