Is a new document macro added to normal dot
Word 365: if you create a new macro in a word document, is it automatically added to Normal dot? If you delete a macro in a word document, is it deleted from Normal dot? |

By default, macros are stored in the normal template. You may however store them in a document, the document's template or an open global template. If you delete a macro, it is only deleted from wherever you created it.

So, if I create a macro in a document that's based on normal.dot template, it is stored in the document but not in the attached template? Is that correct?

Unless you specifically create the macro in the document (and save that document as macro enabled), it will be created in the normal template. If you create it in the document, it will not be in the normal template.

Most of my documents are created with the Normal dot template. Since that's the case should I create and edit macros in Normal dot and not the document? In other words in the attached template?

It is fairly rare that you want to save macros in a document. You would do that if they are only for use in that document and the user does not have a problem with running macros.
