Default building blocks in quick parts

Hi
I'm not a coder but interested in trying to make some work tasks more efficient for my self an my colleges.

I need some help with using building blocks in quick parts.

I have set up a fillable form that uses drop down lists and quick parts building blocks to fill out different parts of the form.

after saving it to my one drive desktop the areas that use building blocks gallery contestant control only seems to work on, one computer I think the one that it was set up on.

I need this form to be able to be filled out in different locations and different users, i there something that I'm missing?

The building blocks need to be stored in a template which is available to the other users. By default, when you create building blocks they get saved in your Normal.dotm template which ONLY you have access to.

To make building blocks available to other users you need to save them in a different template (normally the 'attached' template) and then distribute that template to other users (who then save that template into their user template folder). When the user subsequently opens a document which has that template assigned as the attached template, the user will see your building blocks.

See Where can Building Blocks be stored?

It is even worse than this! AutoText building blocks gets stored by default to your Normal Template and other Building Blocks are stored by default in your personal Building Blocks.dotx file.
Neither of these templates are suited for sharing.

Instead, you want to store your custom Building Blocks to be shared in either a shared document template or a shared Global Template. A document template if intended for use in only documents created from that template; a global template if intended for use in multiple documents.
Document templates should be stored in the Workgroup Templates folder; Global Templates would be stored in the user's Word Startup Folder.

The good news is that you can use the Building Blocks Organizer to move existing Building Blocks to a different template. To do this, the new template must have at least one building block stored in it.
