ms word 2016 owned by me, on my computer not on 365, where is read aloud, no gear at top

I have the read aloud box above my document but it only allows me to click it and it reads. I want to change the voice but can't find how to do that. I'm visually impaired and instructions on the internet are driving me crazy, lol. There is no gear icon at the top of my word. how do I get into it to change the voice
