Sort a folder of .docx files by page size
I have a LOT of files in .docx format
Some are A4 some legal page size Is there an easy way to sort the files by page size (NOT the size of the document, bytes etc, but the page size for printing) or alternatively is there some batch command that would allow me to rename them based on page size - eg documentA4.docx, documentLegal.docx |

There isn't a way to sort files based on page size. In any case, page size can vary from section to section so any document can 'have' a variety of page sizes.
It would be possible to create a macro to open each document, find out the page size of a particular section in it (eg First) and then append the name of that page size to the filename. Note that if you put it at the end of the filename like your example then you still won't be able to sort on that characteristic. The macro could also write the paper size to a document metadata field which can be shown as a column in Windows Explorer. You could then sort by paper size without changing the filename.
