Track Changes
Hi there,
So I recently switched to Win 10 from Win 7 (BIG mistake), & have Office pro plus 2013 and there's 2 issues. I keep getting this pop up and I don't know how to stop it. https://imgur.com/ROfH3oF And with TCs, I can't figure out how to turn it on so every time I add a word it shows up in a color, & every time I delete a word it shows up on the right side outside of the doc & I think it says "deleted) above it. Even the comments don't show up. I see a comment bubble, but I have to click on it to see the actual comment. Before they were always open so I could just skim thru them. I want my TCs to be how they've always been before. Please help, I have 2 docs I have edit. Thanks |

If you think Windows 10 is a problem, look at Windows 11!
As to pop-up, if you have the installation media and product key for Office 2013, do a repair of office. The quick repair should do it. Repair an Office application - Office Support Your profile shows Office 2010, your question seems to be about Office 2013. Which are you using? These are different programs. Track Changes has a number of display options for you to use. (Given the title you gave your question, I assume that you mean Track Changes when you talk about TC.) |

Ok, thanks for the repair link. And I completely FORGOT that (another bug) whenever I make a change, even to turn it to edit mode when I first open someone's doc, I have to save it, close it, reopen it, THEN it shows me my changes, & the same thing happened with TCs just now. It's now working as intended. Yes, TCs = Track Changes LOL sorry. I've been using it since I was forced to switch to Word from WordPerfect, if you know what that was. I don't know how old you are LOL I hated switching, but I fell in love with TCs which WordPerfect didn't have & no one was using it except for me - sigh LOL, I wouldn't switch to 11 if you paid me. I didn't want to switch to 10, but an online friend said he thinks the reason I was having so many computer issues is b/c MS was causing them so I would switch. I now have DIFFERENT issues. SMH. What's up with 11? I'm trying to get my desktop set up & then I'll be back to 7 again. I looked at my profile & there was nothing picked in the dropdown for the version of Word (strange). I changed it to 2013. Where did it say 2010? That's what I have on my desktop. Thanks for all of your help. |

You are welcome. As to profile, look at your original post in this thread. Windows 7 is getting a bit creaky with age and no updates. I doubt that MS is causing issues with Windows 7, but they are not fixing them either since it is out of support.
IMO Windows 11 is still in late beta-test stage. I have it on one laptop but have refused it on my main one. Two things that make it a non-starter for me is that you cannot reposition the TaskBar and it will not let you easily open a Word template for editing from Windows. When you choose Open from the right-click menu, it does not open, it gives a new document. |
