Default How can I disable the "welcome back" message when a document is re opened?

This ANNOYING message keeps popping up near the section of the scrollbar of the page I was last on. It makes it very annoying when using a tablet and I have to tap the screen every time to get it to stop blocking the view. I have tried following the steps in this guide but to not avail. Looks like I will have to switch to using a third party alternative because MS sucks!

Cross-posted on SuperUser at Can the "welcome back pick up where you left off" annoying pop up be DISABLED in word? - Super User.

See Graham Mayor's suggestion for an AutoOpen macro in this thread.[Edit: See following post. This does not work for me.]

Note. I tested Graham's suggestion and it does not work, at least on my system. Apparently this feature runs after any AutoOpen macro executes. (I tried also putting a delay into the AutoOpen. That simply delayed the return to the previous editing point but did not stop it.)

I also tried Allen Wyatt's solution in his tips page. I could not get that to do anything either.

Ctrl+Home remains a viable workaround.

Note, this is not the place to get any changes made in Word nor the attention of developers at Microsoft. This is an independent user-to-user support forum. MS does not see anything you post here. The way to get their attention is through the feedback mechanisms.
My personal preference is to use the Word Feedback Portal. If you do, please get a share link and post it here so that others seeing this thread can go there and vote and comment. While you are there, check for other posts and feel free to vote and comment on those as well!
