Foreign words/names Read Aloud
Read Aloud is a great feature, but is there a way to teach it to pronounce foreign names? It is very distracting when Read Aloud comes upon a foreign name in a document, and pronounces it wrong. E.g. Mr. Celli, an itlalian name, is supposed to be pronounced Mr. Chelli. Is there a way to add a personal file dictionary with the phonetic information so Read Aloud reads the word correctly based on phonetics? Many thanks in advance. H |

There is not.
Realize that the Read-Aloud feature is truly ancillary to the purpose of Word, which is to put words on paper formatted to get the meaning across. Microsoft may not want to add that feature. On the other hand, they've added other things that seem no more related to that main purpose. Note, this is not the place to get any changes made in Word nor the attention of developers at Microsoft. This is an independent user-to-user support forum. MS does not see anything you post here. The way to get their attention is through the feedback mechanisms.
