Is there a way to format all my footnote numbers (both foot note reference and footnote text number) to be bold and in square brackets?
For example (there's no superscript option so will type normal) 1 to be displayed as [1] |

The bold part could be changed with a change to the Footnote Reference style; not the brackets, though.
To do this programatically, dynamically, may require a third party program such as Mendeley. (I do NOT know that Mendeley can do this, exther.) |

Unfortunately workplace has software restrictions. Otherwise I use Zotero, but not sure if it can do it ![]() I actually see you helped on a similar thread... https://www.msofficeforums.com/word/...footnotes.html I also see a similar approach here using ^f and [^&] Brackets around Footnote References (Microsoft Word) |
