Sort pages in word using dates
Hi all
I have a tricky question, I will do my best to explain it (english is not my first language) In my work, I have clients coming with lots of documents (letters and doctor notes), usually not sorted by date, despite me asking them to do so before So I have to sort them, either manually, before scanning, or inside word or acrobat after scanning, usually I use finereader to convert the scans to readable text, then I run a Macro I made in word, to convert all the dates in the document to this format dd/mm/yyyy Is there some sort of plugin, that can read the date in each letterhead (usually located at the top right of the first page of each letter/mail inside the word document) and then automatically rearrange the pages to put the letters in the right order inside the document ...so I won't have to waste time rearranging the pages inside word before having them in the right chronological order I don't think there is a simple way to do this, but still, I'd like to ask Thank you Last edited by Aturion31; 03-23-2023 at 06:34 AM. Header or Heading?
What is the difference between headings and headers? See Moving/Reorganizing Pages in Microsoft Word. |

You're right, my translation was incorrect, I mean the date in the letterhead
My word document will be composed by many scanned letters, but the letters won't be in the right chronological order Quote:

There is a HUGE difference between usually located and always located in a particular location.
Quick answer to your question is that there is no plugin or add-in to do this. Are all of the dates in the format 03/23/2023 dd/mm/yyyy? Someone here may volunteer to write a macro that can do this. |

You're right
I can make sure that all the dates are actually located at the top right before running the Macro But If a letter is a 3 pages letter, only the first page will contain the date, the 2 following pages will not contain the date And yes, all the dates will be "dd/mm/yyyy" I live in France and I already wrote a Macro to convert months from letters to numbers (thanks) Quote:
