Default Word Outline view only uses less than a third of my screen

I use word outline function to hold and sort data and never expect to print it, I just want to see it on the screen. I am astounded that there does not seem to be a way to get it to use the whole screen to the right. The stupid thing wraps the text at less than a third of the way across the screen! Ridiculous! I paste VBA code in under headings to save and sort it for future use, and I'd like to be able to see it on the screen instead of wrapping it's way right out of sight off the bottom of the screen. Why will Microsoft not let me use my whole screen?
