Default Change background of selected text

Hi;
I recently upgraded to MS 365, and am using the dark theme in Office, as well as Windows 11 Pro.
When I select some text in Word, it is difficult to see which text is selected, since both the page background and the selected text background are nearly identical.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Ultrarunner

I know of no way to do this. The simplest thing is to change your background.

I've been using Dark Mode in Word for several years now and have no difficulty in seeing what is selected. There is sufficient contrast between the dark grey page and the mid-grey highlight.

If you are really struggling either use Switch Modes on the View tab, or, under Options, turn on Never change the document page color.

There is a huge difference between using Dark mode and having a dark page color.

I usually have my pages a light blue which does not cause problems for me but does reduce eye strain. With my settings, this does not print, but does go into pdf versions.

Thanks guys;
I'll try changing the background color of my docs from the dark brown or black I am now using to a more gray color.
That said, there is enough contrast between the background and selected text, but I am more accustomed to higher contrast. It's kind of a peeve with me; I'm borderline OCD, and that doesn't help.

We can only do what we can do. This is a user-to-user support forum with no connection to Microsoft.

Note, this is not the place to get any changes made in Word nor the attention of developers at Microsoft. This is an independent user-to-user support forum. MS does not see anything you post here. The way to get their attention is through the feedback mechanisms.
My personal preference is to use the Word Feedback Portal. If you do, please get a share link and post it here so that others seeing this thread can go there and vote and comment. While you are there, check for other posts and feel free to vote and comment on those as well!
