Hello,


we use an third paridy program with very limited and bad support.
the programs opens an word template and write some text into the document.


all works without any error with the old word 2010 version.
now we have to update office (outlook is the reason),
and now word are opening two windows, and in the second window the text was inserted.


but the windows is very strange, we can not edit anything. after ctrl+p and back

the symbol and icons are back.


have somebody ever seen this picture?
what could be the reason, for opening this strange windowß
why is word opened two windows (the first is empty)



second question, can i install word 2010 and office 2021 "parallel"?
because the old word version is working.

How to install both programs.
I have both on my computer.
I use separate folders for my:

• User Templates folder (holds normal)
• Startup Folder (different Add-Ins)

On my computer, those are subfolders of one I named MS System Files in my general Documents folder. Those locations are set for each version in File>Options>Advanced>File Locations (Button way toward bottom of dialog)

After you have both installed, run a Repair on the one you want to be your default for opening Word documents.

Do not install the Outlook from Office 2010 or uninstall it if you can.

As for the strange window, it looks like one from having toolbars toggled.

• This, like minimizing the Ribbon, is a toggle command.
• It retains the Window size.
• It hides the Ribbon, QAT, Status Bar, and displayed Panes.

but at the right top there is no icon for minimize oder maximize the rippon.
with strg+p and then back again the window is okay.
some idea what the macro or 3rd parity program does with the window?
it is annoying every time strg+p and then back.

Virtually anything can be programmed. I have no idea what they would have done.
The toggle toolbars command was just a guess.
