Closed the file and reopened it and now it is working. thank you. Weird behavior. [original question here]



Now I have another problem:

I asked Word to show the rulers and it did however on the horizontal ruler at the top of the page there are no measurement numbers I have hidden the ruler and shown it again to no avail

This will assist its being seen and answered better. It will also help others with the same problem find the answer.


This has been noted recently and my recollection is that it has to do with the page size but I could be mistaken. I'm sure that someone else here will know the answer.

It would seem that this problem has nothing to do with the page size of the document because it continues in every page size that I choose.
Does anybody have a different solution?
It's causing me a lot of aggravation.

I was mistaken. This has to do with the wonders of the "New Experience" being offered by Microsoft. See Doug Robbins' answer here.

It says to click on the megaphone and "turn new experience off". I have a megaphone but that option is not there.
Any alternative ideas?

Scroll down in the Coming Soon pane.
There is button to Enable/Disable. Click to disable.

No way to turn anything off...

Keep trying. It is an intermittent problem with Microsoft's servers and at some point it will be available so long as you are online.
