Default Is there a way to dock the Find and Replace window in Word (Microsoft 365)?

Hi

I do a lot of replace searches in lengthy Word documents and the Find and Replace window jumps around the screen as I search, often obscuring highlighted suggestions. Is there any way to tether the window in one place (and if there is a way to shrink and tether it, that'd be even better - I work from a 14" laptop so space is limited).

Many thanks
Bertie

Not built into Word.

Are you using Ctrl+H to activate this? If so, an intercept or keyboard shortcut likely could be set up to open it in a particular location.

However, whichever location is picked is likely to occlude some of your document.
AFAIK, it can't be docked like the Navigation Pane so will appear over the body.

I just checked my Word 2010, and on mine, the dialog box does try to jump out of the way of a found word.

If you have More options showing for a larger dialog box, you may want to reduce the size by clicking on the Less button once you've selected your optional content. If you are not using the entire screen for Word, you can place the dialog box outside the Window holding Word, in which case it will stay in that one place.

Thanks, Charles. Yes, I open with Ctrl + H, then go through "Find what" results one by one, deciding whether to click "Replace".

I suppose there's no way to reduce the window size either, or at least make it less wide?

Sorry, Charles, I missed your comment about placing the box outside the Word doc. I suppose that's the best option, but it would still be good if I could shrink the box so I don't have to reduce the Word doc too much to make space for it.
