For my Mac Word, I have a DOTM template file that has a specific group of related macros.
I see in preferences Ribbons and Add-ins that a tab group can be added but it looks like for Word in general, not conditionally. I would like a tab group for those macros to display in the open document but only if that template is currently loaded. Otherwise, there's no point in displaying them. |

I don't know how it works on a Mac but in Windows, the GUI allows you to edit the ribbon but those changes are saved globally so they are always on.
Windows users make use of third party tools to create ribbon customisations in specific templates. This is what allows you to add a Ribbon tab in a template so it only appears if that template is active (as the attached template or if you loaded it as an addin).

That's the way it works on the Mac, too. I wish Microsoft would change that.
Which third party tools? |

See:
Consider putting your macros in custom QAT modifications in the template rather than a custom ribbon tab. This is far easier, at least in Windows. Modifying the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) in Microsoft Word Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 02-05-2023 at 01:12 PM. |
