Hi all,
Brand new to the forum and hoping to learn a lot! I apologize for the long, slightly convoluted, title, but hopefully, I can add some more context here! I have a Word document that has page numbers in the header. I have a table on that page where I want a cell to have the text, "Carried Forward to Page 44". Is there a way to link it so that if that page number in the header changes that the text automatically changes in the table to read, for example, "Carried Forward to Page 45"? It's a long shot, I know, but I thought I would ask. Thanks for reading. Glenn |

Yes.
You can use a PageRef field or a Cross-Reference with a reference to the page number. See Insert Cross-References. |

Perfect! Thank you. I just dropped a bookmark into the page I wanted to reference and then cross-referenced it to that.
It's only easy when you know how, and I didn't know how until you helped. Thank you. |

You are welcome.
(It is called paying forward. ![]() I've received a lot of help here and in other forums over more than 25 years.) When you get intoComplex Documents much of Word becomes non-intuitive. |
