Default Track Change Settings

Hi all,

Happy Holidays.

I'm on Word 2013.

So I have no idea what happened, all I know is that my settings for Track Changes has changed & I can no longer get Word to show me the changes like it does here. Imgur: The magic of the Internet

With color & the deleted words off to the right.

I've tried everything in the settings area & nothing is working. All I get is the vertical red line off on the left side.

Please help.

Thanks

Hi and happy holidays!

Sorry that is happening. Since you see the red line, it sounds like the tracked changes weren't removed (like Accept all changes and stop tracking). You've changed the dropdown on the Review tab to "all markup"? What about your View settings on the view tab? Have you changed from print mode to something else?

It's hard to say without seeing it, and also is it just one file or all files affected? Can someone else in your organization see the markup?

Hi Ann,

I haven't asked anyone to view an older doc that had a lot of TCs. I'll have to find someone to open it. The one I am working on I just opened & can't do any work on it now b/c TCs isnt working.

I opened an older finished doc that had a lot of changes & same issue, just the red lines. sigh

Even the pane that shows the deleted words/letters is no longer on the right side, it's on the left & I have to manually drag it to the right, but it doesn't even look the same.

I can't find the "all markup." Where is that?

Here's my settings & that left delete pane.

Go to the Review tab. In the Tracking group, click the Display for Review drop down and choose "All Markup."

Wow, thank you sooo much.

So my question is WHY did it suddenly stop working, but I guess we will never know.

Now it looks fine.

I never had to do that with other versions of Word.

Thanks again.

P.S. I wanted to delete the mistake I made b/c I quoted the wrong comment, but I see no delete button. LOL
