Default How to view Track Changes in Ribbon without expanding

Hi

I would like to be able to see whether the Track Changes action is switched on or not in the main Ribbon without having to click on the chevron under the Tracking tab to expand as currently (see image attached). Any suggestions?

Many thanks

Bertie

You do this with the Status Bar. See this video for help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgAWx-2OQxk

Despite what the video instructor says, I wouldn't recommend enabling absolutely everything but the most useful setting there is the Track Changes.

Thanks Andrew, but I want an expanded Tracking tab in the Ribbon so not only can I immediately see whether track changes is switched on, but also whether All or Simple Markup is activated, etc. - these used to be visible in the Ribbon, so not sure what's happened, and I also note in the YouTube video the Tracking tab is expanded in the Ribbon.

I should say my working life revolves around track changes - I'm a copy editor - so it's a nuisance to have to click on the Tracking chevron umpteen times a day.

You could change the width of your Window or increase your screen resolution.

You could use Ribbon modification to create a new tab with only components from that Group. It will be expanded in that tab.

I discovered the problem was that I had too many icons visible in Ribbon under the Review tab, many never used, so I removed a few, and hey presto, the Tracking tab had room to expand. Thanks all!

I should add, thanks for this, Charles. Creating a custom tab gives me further options I was unaware of.
