Issue with splitting a table

Hi Ann & Stefan,

I appreciate that you've both given my issue some of your time to help me with this. It's not the only table in my document that I've split, but this one table keeps misbehaving.

I've attached a screenshot of what the document looks like after I try to split this one table. I wanted to split because I need to include some explanation text between the two mini-tables.
