Cross References point to a webpage not a Endnote
I do not know if this always existed.
In a document I have a bunch of footnotes which also had cross references if the same footnote was needed on the same page. Since the same footnote was used on multiple pages, we decided to use Endnotes. I used the Footnote and Endnote dialog box to convert them to Endnotes. When I click the cross referenced link I open an web page internal to the document. I tried recreating the cross reference but it always goes to webpage. Been searching for a solution for the last day to no avail Thanks for any help. Michael Virostko |

If you mean that a separate pane opens as you go to or insert an endnote, the reason is usually that the document is in Draft view or Outline view, as opposed to Print Layout view.
Switch back to Print Layout view via the View tab on the ribbon.

Hi Stefan,
Thanks for the reply and sorry this is a little late. I always work in the Print View. I was able to resolve this by creating a new Endnote. I also change the Endnote format from lowercase roman numerals to letters to help view them. Then deleted all the footnotes. Thanks for the help anyway. Michael Virostko |
