All instructions on how to insert an image in a Word document tell me to click on the Insert tab in the ribbon, then click in the Pictures group. But my ribbon has no section for Pictures in the Insert ribbon. Can I upload a screenshot image to show you?

Thank, Charles. In Safe Mode the ribbon looks the same. The problem is there's no Illustrations group at all in the Insert tab here.

The secret is to use the Go Advanced button and attach it using the paperclip rather than the picture button (which requires a web address).

Check Customize the Ribbon and see if it has been inadvertently removed. Add it.

If that does not work, try a Repair.
