In Word 2003, I want to permanently reduce the ridiculously wide indents of bulleted lists. I've finally succeeded in permanently changing the first level bullet, but no matter what I do any change I make to subsequent levels only seems to apply to the document I'm working on. How can I permanently change the indents for all levels?

You can change the styles used for those lists in the template attached to your documents and refresh the styles from that template.

Take a look at Shauna Kelly's page: How to control bullets in Microsoft Word 2000, 2002 and 2003 | ShaunaKelly.com

Thanks, Charles Kenyon! Shauna's page told me what I needed to know. It's still a pretty cumbersome process, but it sure beats having to manually reset the indents for every single list.

Once you have them set the way you like, save a document with the settings and no text as a template you can use in the future.

Actually, by following Shauna's directions, the changes have already been saved (apparently to the default template), because they are now showing up in new documents.
