Hyperlinks in Footnotes won't work
Dear community,
I'm desperately trying to use hyperlinks in my footnotes as cross references to different parts in the same document. For example, I'll have a footnote that says "For a more detailed description, see chapter X". I want readers to be able to click on "chapter X" and then be redirected to the beginning of that chapter. This works fine, when I place hyperlinks on my regular text. However, when I place hyperlinks on text in footnotes, nothing happens when I click on the links! Does anybody have a solution for this problem?... I use MS Word for Mac, version 16.66.1, under a 365 subscription. My OS is MacOS Monterey Version 12.4 I'd be eternally grateful for any help! Hyperlinks in footnotes should work just the same as they do in the body text. Hyperlinks in headers & footers, though, aren't clickable when viewing the document body.

Are you using cross reference? Create a cross-reference
Sorry, I'm not a Mac user so I don't know whether it's exactly the same. |
