How to auto-populate a date in sequence from page to page, starting with a custom date
Hi there, first-time poster (please don't hold that against me!)
I have looked extensively to find the answer to my question in order to avoid cross-posting, but I either can't find it, or can't recognise the answer due to my own lack of understanding! I want to create a 13-page document which teachers use to complete lesson-logs (short review of what they taught). The 1st page of the document represents the 1st week of classes, the 2nd page for the 2nd week, and so on. I have to create these Lesson Logs in advance, so what I would like to be able to do is enter the date for the 'Week starting' (e.g. 10/10/2022) on the first page, and then for the second page to auto populate the date 7 days later (17/10/2022), and the third page 14 days later (24/10/2022) and so on for up to 13 weeks. I attach a screenshot of the doc for reference. I have learned how to use 'quick parts' for the other column headers (very pleased with myself) but having the date auto adjust would be the icing on the cake. I would appreciate any guidance whatsoever. TIA Last edited by JimPerry; 10-07-2022 at 02:19 AM. Reason: typo |

Did you look in the Microsoft Word Date Calculation Tutorial 'Sticky' thread at the top of this forum (https://www.msofficeforums.com/word/...-tutorial.html)? The tutorial provides a solution for that.

Thank you so much for replying!
Yes, I spent a couple of hours yesterday trying to figure out if the answer was in there, and with the help of some friends I was able to find the solution - thank you! For anyone searching this thread the precise chapter in MacroPod's tutorial is 'Calculate a date sequence' replacing the first two fields with the alternatives given 'to start from a date other than today' To set the start date in the document, press CTRL-A, then F9, this will update all subsequent fields |
