Default Don't have permission to access folder

I have MS Office 2019. When trying to open one of the folders I created, I get the following message: "You don't currently have permission to access this folder."

What do I have to do to access my folder?

Do you get the message when trying to open the folder in Windows Explorer, or only when trying to open the folder in Word?

I get the same error message in both.

That suggests that the problem is with the file permissions, not with Word.

If this is your personal machine, you should have access to change the permissions. If it's a work PC, it depends on your company's security policies; you may need to get IT to help you resolve the problem.

It is my personal computer. What do I have to do to get permission to access my own files and documents? I have tried different things as suggested in various websites and none of them work. I have Windows 11.

I don't have Windows 11, but this video looks pretty straightforward if you haven't tried it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKH4mv3y4Ns

Best of luck,

I tried that but it is still telling me I don't have access to my file. Do I have to reboot the computer for it to work?

I wouldn't think so if you had an APPLY button to apply the changes, but it never hurts to see if a reboot helps.
