Is there a way to find out the underlying code for footnotes?
Hello. This may be an unusual request, but I am doing writing research and I need to find out what the internal code for footnotes in Word is. I found out how to find it in OpenOffice Writer, but I can't find out how to do this in Word. (caveat: I don't actually have Word)

Take a Word document with footnotes. Change the filename extension from .docx to .zip, or simply add ".zip" at the end. This gives access to the underlying XML.
