Default Odd and even header and footers with section break
Hi guys

I am having difficulty with my odd and even header and footers for the attached document. I need to have a different number for contents page (i) and start numbering the pages from page 3



Appreciate if you can help me urgently.

Thank you for your help. I still do not know how to change the odd and even footers. Are you able to update my attached document and send it back to me. I have been working on this document the whole day and still was not able to fix it.

I'm not sure what you are seeing wrong. It looks fine to me. You have restarted the body on page 1. You do not have any page numbers in the front matter, but you certainly could, following the directions in Suzanne's article.

I am seeing a first-page header/footer on the first page of each section. Page 2 of your body section has the even-page header and footer. What problem are you seeing? Look at the extra reading links.

Place your cursor in the Footer you want to edit.

On the Header & Footer tab from the Page Number menu, select Format Page Numbers.

Change the settings in the Page Number Format dialog to give you the format you want.

Thank you replying. The odd and even pages are not working. After I put a section break and I delink it is not working can you please check my word document and see why the link with the odd and even header and footer is the problem. Please help me

On Page 2 of my document I have to number it as i. Then I need to insert an odd and even header and footer from page 3 and start number page 1 but then the odd page number does not continue and even my even pages. I have to manually enter the page numbers which is incorrect

I have already shown you what you need to do to format the page numbers as you require.

Page numbering in Word is done by section. You need to set the numbering in Section one to display roman numerals, and the numbering in Section two to arabic.

This really isn't difficult.
