Control over hyphenation
Is there a way to get Microsoft Word (I use 365) not to hyphenate words if the number of characters left on the line is say less than three?
For example not to brake the word "before" after "be". |

Hyphenating a word at end of a line doesn't happen with my Office 2019. The entire end word gets moved onto the next line.
Try typing the words hyphenation or automatic hyphenation into the Tell me what you want to do box at the top of the screen and options to disable hyphenation should appear. Last edited by wiganken; 03-26-2022 at 07:54 AM. |

Like Wiganken, I do not use automatic hyphenation.
See this page: Control hyphenation See this question and answer: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...c-a92cb8f3045f Word used to have something called a hyphenation zone where you could set the number of characters. This is no longer available in Word 365. |

The hyphenation zone (mentioned by Charles) will be available if you save the document in the older *.doc format. I don't know if that would help with this particular request, though.
