Select entire text and then de-select certain Headings?
Hey everyone,
What I am trying to do is change the font size of the smaller text, but I want to keep all the headings the same size as they already are, as shown. Im wondering if there is a quicker way than going through all 100 pages and doing it by hand? Any help would be really appreciated. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...c-e1e02ae6f3df |

Assuming you used a 'Style' to create the text: -
If the 'smaller text' is all one 'Style' then 'Modify' the font size of that 'Style' and it will change all the text of that 'Style' at the click of the 'OK' button. This does not work on text where you have manually overridden the 'Style' by manually setting the font and size of the text. Last edited by wiganken; 02-24-2022 at 09:53 AM. |

You want your headings to be in a heading style (custom or built-in) and your body text to be in the Body Text or Normal or another custom body style. Then you can simply modify the needed style. It is not too late to apply a heading style to your headings. There are keyboard shortcuts built in for Headings 1-3. Your document is currently likely all in the normal style. This is not a good practice.
To modify a style that is in the Quick Styles Gallery, right click on it in that Gallery and choose "Modify." For others, launch the Styles Pane, using the dialog launcher at the bottom right corner of the Quick Styles Gallery. I modified your question title to "headings" rather than "headers." This distinction is important for others trying to find the question and for you when trying to find answers about Word. What is the difference between headings and headers? If you use Word much at all, I recommend going through the short tutorials here: Basic Concepts of Microsoft Word - from Shauna Kelly Doing so will save you a lot of time and frustration. |

Find & Replace would be one possibility. Search for the formatting (font name and point size) that you want to change and specify the new settings. This assumes that no headings include the attributes you want to change, of course.
