Default Multiple text box in one document

Hi,

Im having multiple text box in one document as I want the size of the box to automatically be resized based on the amount of the text in the box. But I dont know how do so that the box below moves automatically when box above increases. Currently the box above is overwriting the box below.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Text boxes are not at all flexible. They are essentially graphical objects and should be treated as if they were images. They are not part of the text layer of the underlying document. You can set the wrap to something other than in-line and that will address the text beyond the box. The box will not expand as it is over-filled.
You might do better if you insert a frame instead. This can have a border, wrapping and will expand as configured. Frames are in the text layer of the document.

Thank you both! I started to use frames instead of text box (good tip). But the frames did not solve my problem, the frame below is not moving when the frame above increases. Any ideas, is this possible to solve?

If you want boxes that move when the text above moves, then I suspect tables would be a better option. Have you thought of inserting single cell tables, or better still multiple row tables? Like frames tables are in the text layer of the document, but exhibit a different set of box-like properties.

What exactly are you trying to achieve? Multiple boxes in a document are always going to make a messy document that is difficult to maintain. Tables may prove the least worst option.

Hi,
Im creating a form where a I have few separate sections for users to fill. So I dont know how much there might be text in each section. I wondered some kind of boxes could work but then I noticed that issue. I'll give a try for the tables, thanks for the tip.

Have you looked at Content Controls? Do you need boxes?

OK. Tables definitely better for this than textboxes or frames.
