Problem with printing to pdf option
Hello,
I have a word with background pages in black. I have to print it to pdf to avoid transparencies in Amazon KDP. However, when I print my word to pdf, the black background dissapears and produces the mix results attached. Can anybody please help me? |

Can you attach a sample page in Word document format. The most likely explanation is the background you are seeing is a display background. How to attach a screenshot or file in this forum.

Under the DESIGN Ribbon, did you set the Page Color to Black, or use some other method?

How are you printing the document to pdf? The document you have supplied, if you opt to Save As > Save as type > PDF > Does the black background get preserved in the PDF file >. It does if I do it that way with your document. |

If I save it, transparencies aren't removed once printed. Does anybody know how can I solve the problem? |

Here is a screenshot from Print Preview of your document, which has a Black Page Color under the Design tab:
I changed the page color to white and added a margin-to-margin textbox in the Header. It is set to be behind text. I've attached that document.
deleteme example.docx Here is a screenshot from the Print Preview of the modified document. Here is a temporary link to the pdf produced using Microsoft Print to PDF which tells me that I need to expand the text box a bit. I have no real explanation for why one works and the other does not. |

I also tried using Save As pdf and then from Adobe Reader, printing to pdf. That gave the black background without the textbox in the header.

You are welcome. Sometimes a workaround is the only way to get there.

I was using Dark Mode which created some UI issues. I switched to Colorful to avoid some confusion.
When I Exported your document as a PDF, the PDF was white text on a full page of black. When I used the Print>> using the Microsoft PDF Printer, the result was a mostly white page except for the object boxes. This matched the view of Dark Mode. |
