Just to be clear, it does not matter if there is a surplus template on OneDrive. What matters is that the User Templates folder location is on your hard drive. You also do not want a copy of your normal template in your Word Startup Folder nor do you want the Startup Folder and the User Templates folder to be the same location. |

I should also say that I found a workaround for the keyboard shortcuts that wouldn't 'take'. When I rename the macro, say by adding a word to the end of it, the shortcut I assign works - no rhyme or reason, but that's Word.

It could be that you have duplicate macros loaded.

I don't think so. It seems to be a common problem, judging from posts on the internet, and one that I've experienced from time to time - out of the blue, for no apparent reason, a shortcut I've been using for a long time suddenly doesn't work and, even when it's reassigned, it refuses to work.
