Is there any such thing as a "relative space in Word?
The header of my DOC is setup like this FIRSTWRDOFHEADER[10 spaces]CHAPTERNAME[10 spaces]SECONDWRDOFHEADER The "chaptername" is getting its text from a field styleref("chaptername") But sometimes the chaptername text is long enough to cause the SECONWRDOFHEADER to get pushed to the next line. Is there a way to put a "dynamic" space in the header which will adjust its size so the text will always be on the same line? Thank You Susan |

Use tabs rather than the space bar. The Header style has built-in tab settings for center and right tabs. Working with Tabs
4. Use Tables and Tabs to Arrange Text in Microsoft Word You can also use Alignment Tabs. |

Use tab stops, as Charles suggested, or possibly a three-column table, in the header.
