Default How do you group a WordArt object with a JPEG or image?

Hi folks,

I'm trying to create a logo for my snooker league. I've selected an image, cropped it to a circle and grouped it with a larger circle shaped background.

Next I created a WordArt ring of text using the Transform function from Text Effects, to overlay around the picture on top of the background. So far so good, but I cant group the WordArt with the image.

Any help in achieving this would be very much appreciated.

Try it this way:
With the background & foreground images grouped, position the WordArt Ring over the grouped images.
Now in the Home tab > Editing group > Select > Select Objects > Draw round all of the objects to select > Group the same as the images.

Default Mmmm... didn't quite work

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly and for your excellent graphic supported method. Unfortunately, when I get to the last step to group, it doesn't work e.g. doesn't give me the grouping option either from the ribbon or from right clicking. I wonder if that's an issue with the Office 365 version of Word?

So I was wondering, is there a way to convert a WordArt object to a picture?

Try converting the WordArt to a ‘Picture’.
Select the WordArt > R/click the selection border > Cut > R/click in the document > Paste Options > Picture.
Select the pasted ‘picture’ > Layout Options > In Front of Text > Move/Resize as Reqd.
Go to the Home tab > Editing group > Select > Select all objects > Draw around all objects > R/click selection border(s) > Group > Group

Are all of your graphics in the drawing layer?
Can you select them and move them horizontally on the page?
Is one behind text and another in front or in-line?

...thanks for helping me out here. In the end, I conceded and took a screen shot, which I then cropped to size/shape. Long winded I know, but it did the job. I'll keep chipping away at the other methods for future reference.
