Default Saving Documents To Desktop ?

Hello,

Always something new I guess.
Using Word on a Mac.

I create a simple document
Then do a Save As

The window coms up with the Name and where to Save it to.

I pick Desktop, which also seems to be the default.

Fine.
It always was placed on the Desktop.
Not anymore.

I can find it now in Recents, and drag it to the desktop.

How can I make it, again, to appear simply on my desktop like it used to ?

Thanks,
Bob

The default "Save" location is usually C:\Users\Username\Documents but Office remembers the location where you saved your last document. Maybe you chose another 'save-to' location previously?

To make this into 'Desktop' again create a new document and choose 'Desktop' as the location to save-to. You can then delete the document after saving it. I think you'll find that this will cause later documents to get saved there as well.

I don't use Macs much but perhaps this thread is relevant to your problem.
Method to Fix “Files Not Visible on Desktop” on macOS 10.15 | Wondershare PDFelement

I think this is a question for MacOS users and possibly not a Word-specific issue. Does the same thing happen if you save to the desktop from other applications?

Also, the Desktop is a very poor location to be saving your documents. Perhaps a Word documents folder that is on your desktop, instead?
