CTRL+SHIFT calls Firefox - from Word only!
All of a sudden, CTRL+SHIFT does not do its thing, highlighting (+end to end of file, +home to start of file etc.). It does either NOTHING, or, if FireFox is running on the computer, it SWITCHES to Firefox. This only happens in Word. In text editors the same shortcut works fine. Reopening Word, changing files, rebooting computer are all of no avail.
wiping out the normal.dotm and starting fresh did not solve the problem, either ... Can anybody help? Thanks in advance Emil Last edited by kucera@kucera.ca; 09-25-2021 at 12:13 PM. Reason: new info |

This strikes me as something coming from Firefox or a Windows keyboard command rather than Word. However your title says this is Word only behaviour. Have you looked to see if there is an add-in running that might have been installed by Firefox?
To eliminate a Word add-in as the culprit, can you try opening Word in Safe Mode and see if the keyboard shortcut still opens Firefox.

Thank you!
As usual, the culprit is a dumb user (me). I had something in Phrase Express that cause the trouble - instead of deleting the whole PhraseExpress macro I left the CTRL+SHIFT sitting in there. Thanks anyway, I am posting this, hopefully, as an apology to the forum, too. Regards Emil |
