Default Macro to copy table of contents to a new doc

Hello! This may be a very simple macro, but I tried hours to find any solution on the internet. What I need is a MS Word macro to copy the table of contents in the active document and to place it in a new separate document. The table of contents should have the same format. Thank you!

Consider saving your Current Table of Contents as a Building Block. Select it, then...

References > Table of Contents > Add to Table of Contents Gallery
Use the Table of Contents Gallery in Word

Note that this controls what goes into the Table of Contents. To copy the appearance of entries in the TOC, you would need to copy the TOC styles. You can use the Organizer to do that.
If you select the entire Table of Contents and paste into a new document, it may copy the styles for you if that document has not had a TOC in the past.
