Fixed Unchangeable Margins
Word margins have defaulted to a width of 5.2 inches and I am unable to reset. This happens in a new document or when opening a previous document. It seems all my Word, past and present documents are affected. Help please. |

Could you possibly post BOTH a sample document and a screenshot?

Please excuse me but I'm just a novice at attachments and the like. Thanks for the help.

I see same as Charles. Are you able to drag the indents left and right? Note: Where I show '6' in text on my attached photo? It's a typo. Drag it wherever you need it to be.

Also maybe the default normal.dotm template has become corrupted? If you delete the template then Word will automatically create a new one. See if that fixes it.

I am unable to move any of the indents. What is the normal.dotm and where do I find it?
When I open the Cribbage Rules file, it is paginated in the un-adjustable 5.2 inches. |

I found the hidden normal.dotm file and deleted it. I reopened windows and the same default pagination is present.

Please, never, EVER, advise anyone to delete the Normal Template. It is often the repository for valuable resources. Renaming the template will accomplish the same thing as deleting it, without the risk of losing such resources. Normal Template |

Start Word in safe mode.
Open Office apps in safe mode on a Windows PC - Microsoft Office From within Word, open your Cribbage Rules. What do you see? Start a new document. What do you see? |

When I open Word in safe mode, all documents are displayed properly.

Then, chances are very high that your problem is caused by an Add-In.

All of the Add-Ins are MS and no .coms.

Disable the Add-ins. All of them.

I really do apologize for being such a novice, but I can't seem to find a way to disable the application Add-Ins. Nothing I seem to do on the page seems to work. I know there must be a secret somewhere.
