Selecting part of a word
When I mouse click to place the cursor in the middle of a word (not at the BEGINNING of the word), and drag the mouse forward some words and release the mouse button, Word selects (highlights) the ENTIRE word where I began to drag, rather than just the last few letters.
Example: If I want to replace the words "workman here" with the word "work" in this sentence, "There is no workman here on the grounds", I would place the cursor between the k and the m of "workman" and drag the mouse forward to just before the word "on", and release the mouse button. That should select "man here ". But instead it selects "workman here ". Isn't there some way in settings of Word or Windows to tell it to stop selecting whole words? Or must we just use the time consuming method of Shift + Arrow Up/Down to select partial words? Thx Brethren! |
