Default Document Formatting

Hi,

I'm wondering if there is anyone out there that can help me to figure out how to format a legal document that I am currently working on. I downloaded it from the Court's website and am filling it in via Microsoft Word, but there seems to be formatting that they included that I can't figure out how to remove.

If there is anyone that can help me figure it out, then I would greatly appreciate it.

You need to be more specific about what formatting is a problem for you. I am an attorney and can tell you that court forms often have poor setup as Word documents.

I am trying to get rid of the white space on the first page and make the document look similar to the attached document. I've basically taken the court form and tried to personalize it, but I've run into problems with the formatting so that it looks close to the original.

If this is something for future regular use, I would paste into a new document as plain text and do the formatting in the new document.

Word Forms provided by courts and other government agencies are often formatted abysmally. They are also often conversions from a scanned document or another Word processor. When printed without any typing in them, they look fine but the minute you start typing in the blanks, all sorts of things go awry.

Failing that, I will save the form in jpg format and put it behind text. Then I will use a borderless table to position what I type, using Content Controls.
