Office 365, version 2107, build 14228.20250
Hi. The document I'm working on is about 50 pages, multiple sections, excluding the title page and TOC. The printer does not print selected pages but prints on current page selection. I tried printing the whole section 2 by entering s2, selected pages like p3s2-p10s2 but no success. I switched to two printers but the same problem persists. Any ideas? Thank you. |

If it happens with other printers could it be an Office 365 bug? If so then not a lot you can do.

You're right Wiganken. It is a 365 bug. I tested printing in a computer running Office 2013 version and the selected pages were printed, except that the page numbers of the print preview were followed, not the page numbers of the document itself. It does not accept p1s3-p5s3.

It's good that you have a workaround until Microsoft fix the bug.

Is everyone else with 365 still having this issue? As of about a month or so ago, every attempt at printing a custom range (pages or sections) doesn't send anything at all to the printer. I've resorted to standing by the printer after I've hit "print all" and just manually stopping it.

I am not familiar with Office 365 but I believe documents are saved to the cloud. If this is the case have you tried saving the document to your computer using 'Save-as' and tried printing that copy of the document. It may behave differently and if it doesn't then you have lost nothing by trying. Good luck.

For us, this problem seems to have been corrected with one of the Windows/Office updates pushed through in the past three weeks or so. There was another weird issue we were having, regarding creating Adobe PDF's from Word using headings to create bookmarks. We found for a while that older documents and compatibility ones were creating errors usually at the end of the Acrobat bookmarks. Instead of 10., 11., 12., it might come through as 10., 10., and 10. in the labels, even though all the bookmarks were in the right places of the document. The remedy was to to to File/Info and convert the doc into the current format, though this also messed with set tabs and other settings in the rest of the document. Suddenly after an update, this is a non-issue too.
Did anyone else have similar luck? Ann |

Ah i see whats going on. Most of my machines are on update channel "monthly enterprise" but my machine is on "current". So using this article, i can make a script to switch it for the one user with this problem. Everyone else can wait till the second tuesday to get the update.
However, i updated to 2110 on a test laptop and the problem still exists. How would i get 2111? i think current is the latest release channel. Is there a beta channel or something? I would share the document but it has proprietary info I dont think i can post it up. Current work around is to have the user print to PDF and then print his selection off that. But not ideal. ref: How to Change the Update Channels for Microsoft 365 Apps Commands used to update are: Code:
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun\OfficeC2RClient.exe" /changesetting Channel=Current "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun\OfficeC2RClient.exe" /update user pause |
