Default size of pasted pictures
Hello, I plan making a long documment with a big number of pictures copied and pasted directly from some websites. Here is the point: I must change every picture scaling after pasting it because I want them to be smaller than default pasted. Is there any option in MS Word (2019) to set automatic scaling of pasted pictures so I would not have to change every picture's properties?
I attach a file to explain it closely. The first chessboard is the picture which was directly copied and pasted from a website. The second one was scaled manually by me. Is there any option to have EVERY pasted pictures scaled automatically? |

One method you could use is to insert the image in a frame and it will adapt to the width of the frame. Add the 'Format Frame...' command to the QAT (Quick Access Toolbar) and use it to draw a frame the size you require.
Right click to format and choose whether you want a border or not. Then select it and either save it as an autotext building block or a formatted autocorrect entry. You can then insert the frame wherever you wish at the same size by calling the autotext or autocorrect and insert or paste your image into the frame.

To save as autotext, select the empty frame and click ALT+F3 give it a name e.g. ChessFrame and click OK.
Put the cursor in the document where you want the frame and type ChessFrame then F3 to insert it. To save as autotext select the frame then File > Options > Proofing > Autocorrect options and you should find that the entry is already selected (though as it is an empty frame it may not be obvious) and the formatted text option will be checked. Enter a trigger key in the Replace box (say #ch ) and click OK. Put your cursor in the document where you want the frame and type #ch to insert the frame.
