How do i remove a numbering temporarily for a new line?

If you highlight the row of text you should see a small 'lightning bolt' icon appear. See picture. Click on this and a drop-down text "Continue numbering" will appear for you to click on and this should give you the line space you are after.

In case that doesn't work you can type your text without numbering using two hard returns to create the blank line in between the two lines. Then highlight all three lines, the two containing text and the blank line in-between. Whilst highlighted click on the numbering style you want and it will apply it to the two text lines but not the blank line.
This should continue the numbering as per photo. |

Try Shift+Enter for a manual line break.

You can use Shift+Enter to create a line break, as Charles suggested.
Alternatively, apply some Spacing After (Paragraph dialog box) to the one paragraph where you want some extra spacing.
