Thanks for the responses.
Yes, ribbon not toolbar. I should clarify - the ribbon icons will run macros. Guessed I looked at that link. It does look like rocket science lol. It also seems to use a custom UI editor which is a non-starter as this problem is for Work and 3rd party apps are restricted. QAT icons would fine too.
